OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Other Program Services: CVHC has established and Asset Management (AM) department that provides management oversight for all the multifamily developments that have been built or rehabilitated by CVHC (41 developments totaling 2,923 units). In addition, the AM department provides oversight for the rental and disposition of the houses in the Lease to Own (LTO) Program. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: CVHC has established a Community Relations Department that provides on-going support to a variety of services at multifamily apartment sites. The following services were provided:Two (2) Head Start Centers provided services to 75 children in Palm Springs and Mecca, California.One (1) Child Care Center Programs provided services to 31 children in Indio, California.Seven (7) Pre-School Center programs provided services to 236 children in the City of Mecca, Coachella, Indio and La Quinta and Desert Hot Springs, California.Four (4) After-School tutoring programs provided services to 145 children in Mecca, Coachella, Indio, Desert Hot Springs, and Palm Springs, California.Scholarship Programs assisted children of CVHCs single and multifamily housing residents to pursue higher education. A total of 39 scholarships were granted during the year. A total of $23,000 was disbursed to scholarship recipients during this period.Cultural Activities provided at our multifamily developments include: Mariachi music lessons, Ballet Folklorico dancing and Art classes. Approximately 60 to 72 children participated in these programs.ESL (English as a Second Language), Adult Education (General Education Diploma) courses are offered in some of our multifamily complexes. Six (6) Computer Literacy programs provided services 176 participants in Mecca, Coachella, Indio, La Quinta, and Desert Hot Springs, CA.Computer Access is provided to residents through open computer sites at thirteen (13) developments. |
