Did you know that in 2025, the IRS received over ten million paper-filed Forms 1040 and more than 75 million paper returns and forms? While most mail reaches its destination, delays and lost mail can happen—and new USPS rules mean your postmark might not accurately reflect when you mailed your documents. If you’re sending important documents to the IRS or Tax Court within a week of the deadline, don’t take chances. Instead of dropping your envelope in a mailbox, go inside the post office and request proof of your mailing date. This simple step can help you avoid late penalties and protect your taxpayer rights. Stay proactive—take control of your tax deadlines and ensure your documents are received on time! Read more from my latest blog: https://ow.ly/rFf350YKlS4

#TAS wants all taxpayers to be aware that any paid tax preparer must sign and include their PTIN on your tax return. This tax filing season be wary of ghost preparers who don’t sign returns and vanish with your information and money. https://ow.ly/zOkl50YGIO3
