What the World Food Programme Alumni Network is doing

As former employees, we continue to be a part of the WFP family, even after our contract expires. Our commitment, interest and support does not end when we leave. WFP AN organizes meetings and events for Alumni to stay in touch and be updated on current events at WFP and the UN, as well as sharing resources for post-WFP life, including how to support and advocate for WFP’s mission.

WFP AN stays in touch with other entities such as Former FAO (FFOA) and WFP Global Services to inform and assist members as and when required.

Our Mission

The WFP Alumni Network (AN) is a global forum of former employees, which harnesses their extensive expertise, knowledge and dedication. Maintaining the WFP family spirit, we promote WFP’s mission in a multitude of ways from mentoring WFP staff to supporting emergency response, to reuniting at various friendship events globally. WFP AN Country Chapters in both programme countries and in donor countries support, advocate and raise funds for WFP as needed.

Some examples of Country Chapters are Bangladesh, Canada, China, Italy, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, the Philippines and the USA.

“WFP would not be all that it is today without the Alumni. Our hard work and commitment are the reason why WFP is today the largest and most respected humanitarian organization in the world”.
