The Consumer Protection and Accessibility Advisory Committee (CPAAC) makes recommendations to the Commission on topics specified by the Commission relating to accessibility issues and the needs and interests of consumers.
The CPAAC provides an effective means for stakeholders to exchange ideas and enhance the Commission’s ability to effectively address accessibility and consumer issues. The Commission will specify topics the CPAAC may consider, which may include:
- Consumer protection and education;
- Implementation of statutes, Commission rules, and policies to protect consumers from illegal robocalls;
- Promoting consumer participation and input into Commission rulemaking proceedings and other decision-making processes; and,
- Impact of new and emerging communications technologies on consumers, including those in underserved areas;
- Communications access for people with disabilities; and
- Video programming access for people with disabilities.
